About

Welcome!

My name is Rhonda  Līvers and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience walking alongside people as they sojourn on the many paths of life.

I understand that life and relationships can be sources of immense joy and at the same time also create searing pain, as I too am a fellow traveler.  I am strengths and solution-focused in my approach to counseling and I seek to help you capitalize on the challenges in your life by identifying the problem, by raising awareness and cultivating life skills and resources that can expand into healing, increased resilience and a settled confidence.

I work with clients on various issues including, but not limited to: Relational trauma, Attachment Wounding, Grief/Loss, OCD, Narcissistic Relationship Abuse, Anxiety, Depression, Self-Esteem and Relationship Issues (Family/Parenting/Friends/Romantic). My approach to therapy is holistic, taking into consideration the body, soul, and spirit. When these three areas are balanced and working together, a sense of overall well-being can be achieved.

My academic history is I earned my undergraduate degree from Governors State University in Illinois in 1990. I obtained my first master’s degree in Christian Counseling Psychology in Belmont, North Carolina in 1998 and graduated with my most recent master’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, Nashville, Tennessee, in 2009.

About Counseling

Counseling is a time set aside just for you to begin to explore issues that are creating obstacles in your life. These barriers could be problematic thoughts and emotions, past trauma that continues to affect your current quality of life, self-defeating behaviors, perhaps relational challenges;  problems that are creating some degree of challenge or distress for you.

The counseling relationship is a collaboration where you and I will work together in a safe and supportive environment and begin to explore the impasse that is interfering with your overall sense of well-being. Once a clear understanding  has been established, a personalized treatment plan will be created to help you achieve your identified goals. I will help you work toward developing necessary skills for overcoming these difficulties with the intention of creating a more enjoyable and fulfilling life, one where your values and behavior align.  I often give clients homework so that they are integrating what is being learned in the counseling session into their lives on a daily basis.
