About Counseling

Counseling is a time set aside just for you to begin to explore issues that are creating obstacles in your life. These barriers could be problematic thoughts and emotions, past trauma that continues to affect your quality of life today, self-defeating behaviors, perhaps relational challenges;  problems that are creating some degree of distress for you.

The counseling relationship is a collaboration where you and I will work together in a safe and supportive environment and begin to explore the challenges that are interfering with your overall sense of well-being. Once a clear understanding of the issues has been established, a personalized treatment plan will be created to help you achieve your identified goals. I will help you work toward developing necessary skills for overcoming these issues with the intention of creating a more enjoyable and fulfilling life, one where your values and behavior align.  I often give clients homework so that they are integrating what is being learned in the counseling session into their lives on a daily basis.
